SURF LESSONS
2-Mile Surf Shop and Bolinas Surf Lessons have partnered to offer you the best surfing and retail experience possible.
Surfing will enhance your life and we want to pass on our love and stoke for the sport to you. All instruction will start with a beach lesson, followed by further instruction in the water. All riders will receive top-level equipment: soft boards and XCEL 4/3mm wetsuits. Our proven teaching methods and specifically designed soft surfboards will make your day a fun and memorable one.
You will learn from the best professional instructors who are all licensed and insured, CPR and First Aid certified with over 15 years of experience teaching people how to surf.
We teach ocean safety, wave dynamics, paddling, surfboard control, correct body positioning, riding techniques and general water awareness.
Private Surf Lessons:
For those looking for one-on-one surf instruction we offer Private Surf Lessons for all ages. Private Lessons last 1.5 hours and can be scheduled for individuals or up to 16 people with family members, friends or co-workers. The cost is $120 for the first person and $40 for each additional participant. Private lessons are offered year round and can be scheduled for any time during the week or on the weekend. Surf equipment (board, suit, and boots) will be available to rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop for your lesson and can be paid for in advance on our schedule when booking the lesson spots or just pay when you arrive at the shop.
When scheduling a private surf lesson for more than one person in our on line schedule, you will need reserve and pay for everyone that will be attending. This will ensure that we have the correct number of boards, suits and instructors reserved for your lesson. Groups larger than 6 should call or email for scheduling.
Participation agreements must be signed by each child's actual parent or legal guardian. No exceptions!
Adult Beginner Group Class:
Adult Beginner Group Classes are offered Saturday and Sunday from April to October for $50 per person. Group Classes last 1.5 hours. These classes are designed for beginner and first time surfers and will focus on surfing rules, etiquette and wave riding fundamentals. Unlike other surf schools that may have as many as 20 students, our class size is kept small (only 3 to 6 people) to ensure students receive the personal attention they need to develop their surfing skills. Surf equipment (board, suit, and boots) will be available to rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop for your lesson and can be paid for in advance on our schedule when booking the lesson spots or just pay when you arrive at the shop.
When using our on line schedule to join our Beginner Group Class, you must book and reserve a space for each person that plans to attend to ensure that we have the correct number of boards and suits available. Last minute drop-ins can only join the class if there is room.
Lesson Package Offerings:
Private Package of 3 Privates
In the Private Package of 3 you will receive 3 Private lessons and a Bolinas surf lesson hat for just $330. Surf equipment (board, suit and boots) is available to rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop.
Private Package of 6 Privates
In the Private Package of 6 you will receive 6 Private lessons and a Bolinas Surf Lesson hat for just $600. Surf equipment (board, suit and boots) is available to rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop.
Standard Package
In the Standard Package you will receive 1 Group Class, 2 Private lessons and a Bolinas Surf Lessons hat for just $265. Surf equipment (board, suit and boots) is available to rent from 2 Mile Surf Shop.
Lesson Packages are specially designed for students interested in developing their surfing skills quickly and also make a great gift.

All Equipment is rented from the 2 Mile Surf Shop and will be reserved for your lesson. Rental equipment can be kept for the entire day or for a ½ day. Equipment includes: Board, leash, 4/3mm wetsuit and booties.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your lesson. Lessons will be canceled if student arrives more than 20 minutes late to a Private Lesson or a Group Class.
Canceling your lesson:
You can cancel a lesson 48 hours prior to its scheduled time with no penalty. However, there are no refunds if you cancel within 48 hours or do not show up for your lesson. To cancel your lesson please call or email Nick at: (415) 847-5489 or nick@surfbolinas.com.
